You should be Dancin’ yeah!
So, no big surprise that Nichole Scherzinger (otherwise known as Pussycat Doll Supreme) won the tenth season of Dancing with the Stars. Even though the top three were the top three, she didn’t have a lock on the title by any means (JMHO). Frankly, I was rooting for Erin and Maks – especially after Maks’ little slip up after their freestyle (“this isn’t the bed we rehearsed on”). That line will go down as a classic in DWTS history.
Scuttlebutt now is they’re looking for Betty White for Season 11. Too bad about Bret Michael’s health problems, I think he’d be a good choice. That’s what DWTS needs – a good rocker to shake things up, not another Osmond.
Any candidates? What rocker would you like to see perform on DTWS. And don’t count out Cyndi Lauper, either. I think she’d be co-owl!
AND THE WINNER IS…..
So how happy were we to see rocker Bret Michaels named the winner of “Celebrity Apprentice?” I for one was overjoyed. I’d never heard of Michaels before this show, and his kookie personality plus the sincere way he fought for his charity, his concern over his daughter’s condition, just bowled me over. Add in the latest real-life drama about his brain hemorrahage (spelling???) and all his recent health problems and it’s better than a soap opera.
Well, I just can’t help but admire the plucky rocker and wish that I had maybe one tenth of his courage. And now I have to run out and find a “Poison” album so I can hear the guy sing!
TGIF, BABY! AND OTHER THINGS….
Ah, finally after a grueling week of work – it’s Friday! the day i look most forward to, becasue…..the weekend usually brings a promise of down time, and more importantly–work on my new book!
WRITING NEWS
SLAY ME ONCE is coming along even better now that i’ve added a new major character, someone for Gillian to interact with and get her into trouble, kinda like an Aunt Clara on Bewitched, only male :.) But more on this later.
In case anyone’s interested, this is what my writing schedule looks like for the rest of 2010 – early 2011:
Finish Slay me Once
Rewrite:
Demons & Fire – YA
Dark Blood – Adult dark paranormal
No Rest for the Wicca – paranormal romance
Diary of a Mad Soap Queen – the Chancey O’Neill Story – women’s fiction (kinda normal, if you dont count the crazed ex into mind control and the voodoo-spouting grandma)
Onyx 2097 – YA fantasy
Also on deck is a complete revamp of my “Mr. and Mrs. Spy” series – the adventures of Gary and Clarissa, and as soon as I receive feedback from those editors/agents who still have it, yet another rewrite of my paranormal soap opera featuring Autumn Hathaway. The latest incarnation is titled GYPSIES, VAMPS AND THIEVES, and I’m waiting on a few agents and one editor before I do anything more.
So, busy right? and, of course, the great agent hunt of 2010 continues :.)
TIDBITS AND TADBITS
In other news…what happened to HAPPY TOWN? I was just getting into that kinky drama when ABC pulled it. I mean, it’s no Harper’s Island, but it was rather suspenseful, and ME LIKEY SUSPENSE :.)
Season ender of GRAY’S ANATOMY – BEST EVER! Although for my money they could have killed off McDreamy – all he does is stand and stare at people nowadays. Bring back Dr. Weber as Chief of Staff! and I actually felt bad for Mark Sloan, having to watch Lexie gush over an unconscious Karev as he moaned for Izzie….
And for those of you who think vampires are passe, let me just say…ABC’s THE GATES! From the previews, this is obviously a prime time vamp soaper set to rival THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. And, of coruse, there’s Johnny Depp’s promised remake of my favorite soap of all time, DARK SHADOWS, tentatively set for October 2011. and they say the market’s inundated with vamps! Well…it is, kinda. But, really…can we ever have enough?
Ta for now, have a great weekend, and more…much more…later.
Greetings!
Hi, my name is Toni LoTempio and I’m a friend of Kenny Colgate’s. :.) I met Ken through his mother in law, with whom I worked for several years. I’m an author, have several books published through small press, and am currently searching for a new agent and working on a new book and getting ready to rewrite some old ones.
When Kenny invited me to write for his website, I thought, Rock Music? I’m more of a Barry Manilow/Four Seasons type of gal.
But then I thought about it.
I like the Beatles
I like the Rolling Stones
and, yes, believe it or not, I like KISS!
So, dammit, I can write about music. And writing. And lots of other things, too. Some of the things I write about you might find interesting, and some maybe not. but…that’s what makes a world, right?
I should tell you a bit about the type of stuff I do write. Horror, Paranormal Romance/Mystery mostly. I have written regular commercial fiction, but for a gal who had to rush home from High School each afternoon to watch DARK SHADOWS, paranormal just seems a natural fit. :.)
So, I’m glad to meet all of you and looking forward to telling some tales on this blog.
